Real Car Class Title and rules, I suggest a small refinement and name change to USGT class.

I was looking back under the VTA rules after talking to Brian and Paul last night at the track. And found that they also have a USGT class. I suggest we change what we start calling the class as such a follow these set of rules. It allows:
-Any 4wd sedan chassis (just as VTA).
-Any 190mm or 200mm body not on the ROAR T2 body list (basically any realistic body) while no trucks, molded lexan wing are allowed with a maximum hight of 10mm.
    -Any treaded tire.
-Any 24 or 26mm spoke (non-dish) type wheel.
While tires and wheels are ideal for this class, a track or seris may approve a premounted tire, slick tires being acceptible. A spoked wheel is encouraged if possible for premounted tires.
    -Minimum ride hieght of 5mm.
-21.5 motor with stock rotors only, no tuning rotors.
-2s lipo batteries, ROAR approved hard cased is the only restriction.
-ESC is still limited to USVTA list. (We could be laxed to no timing and boost, as we are now.)

As a club/group of people out to have fun, we should still try to stick to what others out there are doing in general. All in all the class restrictions make the race more competitive not the chassis.

I have always thought VTA rules were best. Tires are easy to get (usually), but the only difference I see with your post is go with the HPI rims/tires, etc. I think gearing could be open as well as body choice.

It's a fun class, strap a body and 21.5 on your car...eventually get you some HPI rims/ tires and there you go.

Jeff where were you when the decisions were being made? Purchases have been made based on the current rules, over $200 for me. I know I can use my stuff in the class you purpose, but VTA rules allow for far better equipment that I would have bought. I believe 4 of the current racers have the needed equipment to run in the existing class. Finish what we started and make a decision next season what is wanted for the class.

The secret meeting... I did try discussing this as soon as I heard anything about it. And really there isn't that mush difference. The only real difference is allowing a stiff carbon fiber chassis. And isn't a soft flexible chassis better for rubber tires? Asa I really am not trying to start any drama you may enjoy. But let's get back to the real world and have the fun we all should be having. As the original post I put up 2 of 3 I know currently running in said class do not have a problem with a carbon chassis. Why do you. What is wrong with a actual set of rules, that other people and places us? Why limit the class in general? Isn't half the point to get more people to come out and race, regardless of skill or equipment level. I have put out money in attempts to run in said class also. $90.00 for a 21.5 motor I would not need otherwise. $25.00 for a non touring sedan class body, a VTA approved one. When available I will order the HPI tires and wheels that the group wants to run. And if the class does go full VTA only, I will stop running in said class or get an approved ESC and 25.5 motor. So what is the big deal...

I agree with Jeff, let anyone run under the USGT rules. There does not seem to be strict adherence to any of the rules in any class. WGT is letting any type of body run; people are overcharging batteries and are even using battery heaters. To the letter of the law all of these are illegal, but the racing has still been very close and exciting (besides Max making me look like a fool in WGT). Plus the turn out for VTA has been super small. If we can get more cars out under the USGT rules then I vote for more cars.

My original idea was to run tc class rules with a lot slower motors, Sean wanted a way to keep costs down came up with the current rules. Seems to work fine.

Just put a vta body and 21.5 on your car, blinky esc.

Call the class whatever you guys want.

    Problem solved....

    Slam dunk.
