New Touring Car Tire Empty New Touring Car Tire

Touring car drivers I have some big news for you. We are going to be switching spec tires from Jaco Blues to Solaris Mediums. Please read this whole post as I know there are two questions, why and why.
    Benefits of the Solaris tire:
    1. We will see more grip from the tire
    2. It will be the spec tire for ROAR this year
    3. The tires will last just as long as the blues if not longer
    4. The wheels look way better
    5. They are cheaper

I am also sure many of you are upset because you just got your blues. They will still be legal up until our big race in February. I also understand that you may have a slight disadvantage and will want to switch right a way and I understand that is an additional cost you didnt expect especially around Christmas time. To make the transition easier if you buy a set (just $25.00) either this race or the race on January 8th I will give you free racing for that night, essentially lowering the cost to $20.00 a set. I hope everyone understands that this switch was done purely to help the racers at RCRIOT as I am trying to make racing as competetive and as cheap as possible.

    Sean,

Go ahead and put me down for a set. I'll get them from you on Tuesday at practice.

    Thanks, Smedly.

Can we continue to use the blues in spite of the disadvantage?

Yes up until the two day race in February.

I am rushing the tires in so they will be available for practice on Thursday. I can assure you that if you car handles good on Blues it will be awesome on these. If its ok on blues it will be better on these. What I am trying to say is you can practice with Blues and not have to change your set-up for the new tires. Just enjoy more grip.
