    On-Road Racing Empty On-Road Racing

I am sure that most of you have heard that RCAddictz is closing there doors. We are very disspointed with this but we are glad that we were able to have a very enjoyable witner carpet season there. We had a meeting last night and discussed racing asphalt again this year out at Sandia and we decided we would rather support the off-road club and save money in order to get another location for this coming winter to run carpet again.

We are going to race a spec truck class out at ARCOR and may go to a few other races as well. We will be racing 13.5 blinky, with J-concept Green Double Ds for wet track and Team Losi Red Bar Codes for dry track. The foam we are allowing is the pro-line closed cell (the blue ones). This is class that all of the onroad guys think we can run and do some what well at and have a lot of fun racing together.

The asphalt track was going to cost at least 1,000 this season if not much more so we will be taking that money as well as money we are going to start raising to rent a building and run a carpet season this winter. We have not missed a carpet season in 5 years and we will not miss one this year. So please keep your cars and except that this winter will be one of if not the best season yet since we will have our own guranteed location.

Thank you for your continued support,

Hey sean just a thought as to why we are restricting tires and foams? when arcor has ran 13.5 blinky mode we have always ran suburbs for tires it seems like the tire that everyone uses? Is this class going to be like a super stock class then? or jsut another verson of the stock class that arcor has? feel free to call me on this as i am a bit concerned about it? 5052648384. i am concerned about peeps having to buy differnt tires for this particular class is all.

I agree suburbs were the bomb in truck but they no longer make the mx compound which we were all using. That's why we went to the bk bar instead. We wanted to run spec tires and foams to save a lot of money and get rid of the tire game that we onroad guys don't understand. It is a gentleman agreement amongst the onroad guys we would love everyone to follow but we obviously are not the organizers so we can't force it.

i didnt know they stopped selling the mx compound for the suburbs guess i am going to have to see what tires i have cause i still have suburbs and alot of them lol. weather or not it takes off i dont know? i will say this however i am lookn forward to more touring car. raymond is really enjoying racing carpet and i am enjoying it but knowing he is really liking it makes me happier and wanting to run it more as well. I was just concerned that this was going to be the new 13.5 class. but lets face it honestly no matter what tires a certain few run and compared to what i run they will still whoop my butt LOLZ.

I am sure no one will complain if you run your old tires off. Plus suburb mx and bk reds are basically the same. We will be back on the carpet in October

I have no objection on what tires are run. I just want to come race and have a good time.

On-Road Racing Empty new to the area

Post  depreazy Sun Jun 17, 2012 12:32 pm

    Hey guys,

I'm new to the area, I have raced for Kyosho for many years. I was excited to see the RC on road track out at Sandia (Napa) raceway when I went out about month ago. After reading that it wont get used I'm a little bummed! Where are the local clubs and racing locations at? I hear there is a lot of offroad out here? Can someone post links. I usually race nitro TC.

    Thanks for the info,

    Hello Jimmy,

On road racing is struggling currently. We had an indoor carpet track but that closed and we are no longer using the track out a Sandia. There is an off-road track but it just got vandalized and had a major electrical failure. You should check their site http://www.thearcorraceway.org/ for further details. There are still a couple of us die hard on-road racers that are still wanting to race but currently there are no places to race at.
